It's Shake n' Bake, and I helped!

So, uhm, I don’t want to be here…

I am pretty tired, and kinda hot, and, well, I am probably just going to do a half-assed job at posting if I do, so, uhm…

But there was a few things I wanted to mention, but there not important…

And it’s not like anybody reads this anymore…

Hmm…

Ok, I guess.

I worked today, but not yesterday, and only a little the day before.

Blog/Website has been re-spidered, so all pages but this one are in search index.

I decided Schwarzenegger and Ventura would be interesting running mates.

Haven’t done any website work in a long time now. Haven’t done baseball cards in a few days either.

If I don’t work tomorrow, I am going to clean/rearrange my room.

I finally found the key to our front door. I lost it like a year ago. Was in center console of the car.

Powerbooks ship with all their install images on a single DVD, rather than 8 install/restore CDs and a system check CD like Jenn’s ibook or 2 Install, 3 restore, and 1 check CD like mine. Is a good idea. iBook is only mac that ships with a CD-Rom option, and thats only available on the low end edu only model.

OK, thats enough. I’m going to bed.

bye,

If the light at the end of the tunnel seems to be coming toward you, rather than you toward it, then you know its not a dream, and you’re just sleep walking down a railroad track.

Now More Than Before

It’s 1am, and I am wide awake, not a good thing when I have to work in the morning.

Jenn and I got tickets to the airshow for Sunday. Should be cool. The F-16s were practicing today, shook the whole house.

The baseball card DB is going slower than I would have hoped. It’s been nasty hot out so my room is nearly unbareable. Stupid heat, stupid poorly insulated upstairs, stupid no AC. Stupid, stupid stupid.

Anyway…

There aren’t many of you anymore. Mostly has just been Jenn viewing the blogs. Kinda sad. Suchyta is working and has trig class, Jason is either working or with, uhm, I can’t remember her name right now. Scott is with Sarah. I guess summer just isn’t great for blog readership. Funny, because last summer I had alot of people reading, or I though so. Steph, Lauren, Scott, Jason, Nick, John, Troy, a bunch of regulars. But now, squat. Oh well.

Danielle, hah, remembered Jason’s gf’s name.

Ok, I still have a bunch of energy, but my eyes are getting heavy. I am thinking I should try and go to sleep white at least some part of my body is willing to cooperate.

Night all, see you Sunday.

WAIT!

Haha!

I just realized I am supposed to update on friday, not Thursday. So…

I will leave it here, and will add more tonight.

Ok, Im back. Is 9:22 now.

We just had Oasis. Yum, perch. Jenn claims to have never eaten perch. Wow is all I can say.

Not much else. F-16s flew over again today for airshow. Drove dogs crazy.

Ok, bye again.

Click click bloody click PANCAKES!

Baseball Cards

I got my cards from storage today, and have began sorting them and putting them in a FileMaker database. I have 100 cards entered, and about 300 sorted. I figure I have about 2000 cards total, from ’70 – ’94, though most are ’90 – ’92.

The previous post actually had another funny thing, it was the 15th “Special” post, so it was a 15th, 150th, and 1500th in one. Kinda cool.

I got new shoes yesterday. NewBalance 470s, size 10.5 4E. Were $39.99 at “the Shoe Dept.” in the Bay City Mall (formerly Shoebilee). They came in orange or red, Jenn said red, and I liked both, so red they are.

My room is again filled with things to eBay, and I am again not eBaying them. I need to figure out shipping estimates, then I will start posting stuff. Really, I will.

I want to sleep in really late one day, then go for a bike ride at like midnight. Would be way easier as far as traffic, cooler than in the day, and fun cause night. Problem is I would get tired sooner, cause was late. I want to try though. Leave at midnight and do 20 miles around town. Would be fun I’m sure.

Ok, I am tired, I might have to work tomorrow, and my computer wants me to restart it, so I am going now. See you all on Friday with a card DB update.

I’m gonna get my butt nipper, and nip it in the butt.

Double Milestones!

Woohoo! I got my 1500th visitor, and my 150th post in the same week. Almost scary.

500 – about 11/26 – John
1000 – 4/07 – Erica
1500 – 7/16 – Jenn

I have decided to catalog all my baseball cards in a database, but FileMaker is proving to be ugly. The basics of it are easy, but making the template look good is a bit difficult.

I can’t really think of what else.

Uhm, I should point out that the search only updates every 2 weeks, so today’s post for example isn’t searchable for about another week.

Also, I have added the site map to the blog links thing, in the upper corner.

And sadly, I have to report that one of Jenn’s fish has passed away. She had 2 goldfish and 2 african frogs.

Ok, my brain crashed, so I am leaving.

See you all Tuesday.

Why is it called a MANual, when no man will ever read it?

Changes

You may notice the blog is a bit different. You may also have noticed there was a temporary “down” period yesterday. So what changed? Well, Bravenet was annoying, so I dropped them. That means the second counter has disappeared, along with the poll. The SiteMeter counter is still there, and is accurate. I am awaiting my 1500th visitor, shouldn’t be too long. The poll I haven’t found a replacement for yet. I hope to have a new poll within about a month, but who knows with me. New though is finally a search. At 149 posts (Saturday is 150, woohoo!) I felt a search was needed. The search includes a page that lets me see what the top searches are, top results, etc…, so I will periodically post those. It also provides a site map when it “spiders” my site, so that may be useful to some of you. It isn’t great yet though, so I will need to play with how deep it maps. Right now you can only reach the map from a search page, but I will be adding the link on the main site pages, and on the links in the top right of the blog.

Apple released it’s Q3 today. Two billion dollars in revenue, $61 million in profit, $4.96 billion cash in the bank (yes, cash, for buying smaller companies up generally). Wow. Also, it was confirmed that the reason the iMacs are shipping late is due to IBM’s poor G5 turnout. It isn’t IBM’s fault, 90nm is just really small to be building chips at.

I downloaded NetNewsWire Lite. It is an RSS news program. For those who don’t know, RSS is an online syndication standard, similar to how the Bay City Times gets all the Associated press articles, or how yahoo lists Reuter’s news. I like it so far. I have MacRumors, Space.com, Crazy Apple Rumors Site, Apple Hot News, MacCentral, and of course, my own. Yes, the blog has an RSS feed, it is built into iBlog. So if any of you are using an RSS program, you can get my feed here (Yes, it looks weird if you view it in your browser, all RSS feeds do. I promise it works fine though).

Ok, I have a nasty headache again from the wisdom teeth, so I am going to bed. I can’t believe I wrote this much honestly.

Night, all.
See you Satuday.

Remember: 150th post – Saturday, July 17th 100th general in iBlog – Sunday, August 1st (unless we get a special before then)

Whooopsie

Sorry all. Two days late is kinda bad, huh? I didn’t post Thursday before I left to Jenn’s, thinking I would when I got home. Problem was I didn’t come home til about 1 on Saturday morning. So I put it off till now, about 12 Saturday afternoon. I will make sure it doesn’t happen again.

When I installed F@H, I also installed a little utility to make it auto launch. Little did I know what a pain in the ass it would be. I decided to switch from the command line version of folding to the GUI app, and deleted the command line program. For the last 2 days now I have been unable to use my terminal, because it attempted to launch a non existent program, then when unable to find it exit the shell. Fine, I’ll put the program back. Nope, still exits the shell as soon as I end F@H. After a 16 post thread on MacRumors forums, I found the culprit. It wasn’t some Unix file like we thought (I checked every shell rc, profile, and login file I could think of) but the preferences file for Terminal. And stranger still, the setting can’t be reached from in Terminal, I had to open the com.apple.Terminal.plist file manually. Weird shit. Glad is all OK now though.

The 1 year anniversary of the counter has now passed. July 6th, 2003 I put it up, with 0 views. July 6th, 2004 it ended the day at 1306, which is really 150 too low, so 1456. By the way, you will notice that both counters (should) have the same value now. The Bravenet counter will go away soon, followed by the replacement of the poll and the addition of a search feature. No, really, I will.

Jenn and I are going to sidewalk sales today, and perhaps the car show. I need to go get ready for that, so I will see you all, tomorrow. Being late screws stuff up.

I’m sure glad global warming never happened.
Oh, it did, nuclear winter just cancelled it out.

Stuff, Just Stuff

Ok, so I did my roundup of possible updates, but what do I really want to see? A new imac. I want to see a new G5 iMac in particular, with PCI Express graphics, especially an ATI Radeon 9600 or so, though I am open to a bit lower. G5 processor in the 1.6 or 1.8 GHz range. DDR 400 RAM, FW800, and 8x Superdrive. I know this is all possible. As long as the imac is single processor, having a 1.8GHz model shouldn’t interfere too much with PowerMac sales, and I have to admit upgradable video would be a HUGE asset to the iMac.

Anyway, enough of that.

I did some more site work. Am up to a whopping 5 pages now. I am going to estimate will be set by July 6 (counter’s 1 year), but no promises.

Hooters is open again. Bay City’s is anyway. Saginaw is said to be opening “early July”. Told you so.

Jenn got to meet my dad yesterday. Seemed to go well. Wasn’t alot of conversation between, mostly just Jenn and I talking while my dad and mom and bro talked. They have met now though, so we are all evenish, or something.

Gas main work in front of our house is done. Now the other side gets it. At least they aren’t digging huge trenches with a back hoe like they would 10 years ago.

A private pilot has become an astronaut. Is the first time a private company has built a plane capable of carrying a man to sub-orbital altitudes. They are going to reach further soon, in an attempt to win the $10 mil X-prize. Look on google for more.

I watched Scott’s DVD “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka”. Oh – My – God. Very funny, kinda stupid, a must see.

Ok, tired as shit so going to bed. See you all Saturday.

“He… He OG’d.”
“OG’d? Over golded? When will these kids learn?”

La la la

Hi

Has been semi uneventful 3 days.

I worked on Wednesday with Scott, and we worked a little on Tuesday too. Bauer kinda took out the side off a building with a mower, so we ran away,

More time with Jenn of course. Her birthday is Saturday. Between finding her a gift and Fathers day, I am kinda stumped. Maybe nobody will get anything, too make it all easier.

WWDC is getting closer, and I more excited. I love WWDC, it and MWSF. I wish I could go someday. Probably MW, since its MUCH cheaper. WWDC is like $3k to go.

I did more website work finally. I need to work on getting it up. I know I need to, but yet I have so little time recently. Soon. Also, as of July 6thish I will be back to 1 counter. Thats the day the SiteMeter turns 1, and thus it will be easier to reset and then forward to whatever bravenet says.

Ok, I promise a new poll next time, but not today.

Sunday…

Diamonds: She’ll pretty much have to.

More Photos

I have finally posted the photos of the dogs, as well as photos of some people. I want to work on getting better scans now, I didn’t realize how lousy some of them looked. Comment and ask, and I am sure I will work harder. Honestly, I slack because I feel you people don’t give a rats ass.

My MBNA loan is over. They are apparently not charging me the $.38 in interest I thought I owed. I am just glad to have one more debt out of the way.

Apple has, over the last week or so, released a new liquid cooled G5 to be shipped in July, and the Airport Express router which supports 802.11g 54MB/s wireless, wireless USB printing, and wireless audio. The 802.11g router and printing were available on the Airport Extreme, but audio is a new feature, and allows you to connect the router to any stereo and wirelessly sent audio from itunes to the stereo, very cool. Just $129 and is quite portable too.

I made Dean’s List at Delta. I am not too enthused, since I only had 6 credits, but still.

I miss last summer. Sleeping on the couch downstairs, watching “7 Days” at 2 am, new “This Old House” every Thursday at 3 am. I had a dry time from 12 when Family Guy ended till 2 though. I always found something though. I can’t remember why I didn’t work. I think I was on my “VERY part time” thing.

Notice that there is still no new poll. I can’t think of one right now, and you people don’t vote in them anyway. Maybe next time, or maybe they will just disappear.

Anyway, I am going to bed.
Good night.

Why are restroom toilets horseshoe shaped?
And if they are better, why can’t we buy them like that?

A Day Off, Yeay!

Finally, I have a day off. I worked 5 straight, that’s good for me. I will get a very nice paycheck I’m sure, but I am glad I get to sleep in finally.

I was notified via postcard today I made Dean’s List for Winter 04 at Delta. Is impressive I guess, though I only had 6 credits.

So what have I been doing…

Well, what I haven’t been doing is getting the pics of the dogs scanned, or renting LOTR:ROTK yet. Soon, very soon.

Wednesday after blog I went to Jenn’s, as did I every other day. We figure with the exception of the day Sarah found out her dog had cancer, I have been at her house every day since May 13th, and actually longer. Heck, even that day that I didn’t, I was probably there past midnight the day before, so were good there too. Yesterday we went to the mall and I got a new watch battery, but mostly we just hang out.

Worked Thursday thru today as well. We finished Hughs’ again yesterday, and began Kirshen’s today. I am sure somehow we will end up as Hugh’s again before the end of the summer.

After work and Jenn’s, not much else has been done.

Speaking of Sarah’s dog, it was put down at about 2pm today. Lucy had a tumor on her shoulder. She was in a lot of pain, and removing it wasn’t really an option as it would probably spread if it wasn’t already. Besides, even amputating the bad arm couldn’t be done since she had hip displacement and it would worsen it by adding more weight to each leg.

Friday was the last day of school for the little people. Congrats to any new graduates. Oh how things have changed in 3 years. Wow.

I need to get in some bike riding, but can’t seem to find the time. I get home from work and shower, then either go with Jenn and eat, or eat then go with Jenn. Seems the only way I am going to get to ride is if Jenn does, I don’t work, or I give up Jenn time. I think A is the best choice, maybe the only.

Ok. I am sure I forgot something, but oh well. New poll soon, and FREAKING COMMENT DANG IT. This no voting/no commenting is pissing me off.

I will try harder for the more pics, and at updating too soon rather than too late.

Tuesday,
nick

Why did the monkey fall out of the tree?

It died.
