I was in Wyoming!

Really, Scott asked me yesterday to go with him to take a couch from his apartment in Mt. Pleasant to his sister’s house in Grand Rapids, so we went through Wyoming, MI. We also had the privilege of seeing “The Eat Place” in St. Louis. Then we got the tickets for Bubba Ho-tep and I got to sit home for a whopping 2 hours.

Bubba Ho-tep was extremely funny. I’m not totally sure, but it should be available for rental, and I highly recommend it.

I got my grades from Delta, A, A, and B in HTML, JS, and Networking respectively, as I predicted.

Friday I worked, shoveling mulch. I didn’t get a pay check this past week, because I didn’t work the previous week. Oh well, will get one this friday. Worked Thursday also, but you know that from the last update.

Been riding bike more too. Trying to do at least 7 miles a day. I should be doing more, but the only days its not raining, I work and am a bit too tired to do more.

There is a thunderstorm right now, and there was just a big thunderclap that even set off some car alarms. There has been quite a bit of thunderstorms lately. According to Delta’s weather page we’re at 2.3″ of rain the last I checked, and its only the 9th.

Speaking of dates, the 7th was 1 year since we moved, and since I let Ludwig go. I miss the house, I miss my turtle. But they are gone, and I have moved on (kinda).

Ok, that’s it for today. Will see you all on Wednesday with a new poll too.

If you drank all the kool-aid from the big pitcher guy, would he die?
(he did in Homer’s daydream anyway)

I Hit the Car!

I hit the car, haha.

Ok, an explanation. On Freeland Rd., just off Bay, there is this driving range. Out about 150 yards, there is this 89ish Grand Am sitting out there. When I first saw it, I said “I have to hit the car.” Once we had our balls and were out there, I noticed a sign saying if you hit the car, you could win a club. So, I tried and tried, and eventually, I did it. Bounced right off the hood. As we left, I let the guy know and he signed me up for the drawing, so come September, I might win a golf club.

BTW, golf is a weird sport, with the shafts and the balls and all.

What else…

Monty Python was awesome. Was great to see on big screen for once. Scott and I are going this coming Saturday for Bubba Hotep, starring the dude from Army of Darkness.

Also, note the new poll.
PLEASE VOTE!!!!!!!

Hmm….

I think that’s about it.

Sorry so short, but I haven’t really done alot.

Till Thursday,

I would throw them at people.

Owwwww

Well, after working yesterday and today, I am rather sore and tired. Though, I guess I am lucky. Suchyta was going to work with us yesterday, and about 30 minutes in he crushed his finger between the dump box we were putting on the truck and the hoist we were lifting it with. He broke it open and fractured the bone, needing 5 stitches. I’m sure it hurts like hell too.

I didn’t manage to get a bike ride in this week due to either poor weather, being at work, or lack of motivation. Next week I guess.

Down to the last week of class now. I have homework for my 2 f2f classes, and a test for my inet class. So very close, I am glad.

Iron Chef America started last night. The first episode was an intro, and the second was Flay v. Sakai in the trout battle. Amazingly, Flay(now 2 and 1) won, bringing Sakai’s(70-16-1) first even loss in a fish battle. That battle just replayed, and on now is Batali(0-0) v. Morimoto(16-7-1) in the Spiny Lobster battle. Tomorrow will be a repeat of the 3 past battles, followed by Morimoto v. Puck, then the 2 on 2 finale. From what I’ve seen, other secret ingredients may include sea urchins, tuna, and scallops. Also, Alton Brown’s role seems to be as the commentator, and the new chairman is none other than the nephew of Kaga himself.

Still no work on the site. I hope to move all my school projects from Delta’s server to my own site after school is over, and finally recompile my Java Applets.

Ok, I guess that’s it.
See you Tuesday.

Hot? In April?

The hell is this shit?

Yes, I asked for warmer, but I just wanted warmer than 30s and 40s, not the freaking 80s already. Can we get a 70 – 75 with no wind maybe?

Apple released a heap of new software today, but no hardware. Most are still expecting new iBooks and PowerBooks tomorrow. We will see.

I passed 1100 today. I am giving the title to Erica, although she was 1101. Some stupid googlers got 1099 and 1100, so she was closest. I shouldn’t though, since she doesn’t talk to me anymore :-P.

I went to Zabro’s and to see “the Punisher” yesterday with my brother. Very awesome movie. Also, why did nobody tell me how much better GKC is than Goodrich? I still want to see HellBoy, JerseyGirl, and Holy Grail will be there at the end of the month too. If anyone is interested, PLEASE let me know. I hate seeing movies alone.

I rode most of the rail-trail with my mom on Friday night. Was like 7.5 miles round trip, so 2 under. As was with the movies, if anyone would like to go with me, let me know. I am available pretty much 24 – 7 since I have no life, unlike all of you.

I worked Friday too. I was all yellow from the pre-emergent we put down. I still have a few yellow spots I either miss or just can’t get off yet.

So, that’s what I’ve been up to. I haven’t heard from some of you in a few days, but see you checking the blog. I wish you would let me know what’s going on, either an IM or a comment, something.

Ok, toodles.

Untitled, Because I Can't Think of One Right Now

Hi!

I was really looking forward to this blog, but now I am really tired, so I am not any more.

I downloaded Civilization III, and have been playing it a little too much, so haven’t slept as well as I should be. Last night I saw Gods and Generals at the State, so that had me up late too. Tomorrow I am supposed to work with my mom, so not sleeping in at all. I will deal though, what choice do I have?

New poll up, PLEASE VOTE. Sakai and Morimoto tied the last one. Will see who was right in a week or so.

I went for a bike ride today. Did the whole rail-trail loop for 9.5ish miles. I think that may be adding to the tired. Sadly, I went alone because nobody will ride with me right now. Oh well, solo rides give me a chance to think and such, so not all bad, just kinda lonely.

Hmmm…

We did XML in my website class, and its really cool. I wish I could do my site in XML, but most browsers have lousy support for it. Speaking of the site, I haven’t done anything with it in a while. Either busy or not up to it. I will have another fairly big update soon though, maybe after school lets out?

Ahh, school. Just 2 more weeks, so nice. And it’s been nice out lately too. Was mid 60s today. Supposedly might brake 70 tomorrow, but chance of rain, And not even a thunderstorm, just rain. Too bad.

What else is new…?

I was right about the Stacey thing, was a friend of Suchyta’s that thought was his blog. She tried to delete the posts but couldn’t. Funny, because if I had known, I can delete comments, but didn’t so made a big deal out of it. Haha!

Apple released a new eMac on Tuesday. It seemed like just a speed bump, until today when i realized it has an 8x DVD-R drive. Now, eMacs are $999 and have an 8x drive, but the $2999 G5 only has a 4x. All the rumor sites are wondering if new G5s are coming soon, and this answers it to me. If Apple was just going to switch to an 8x SuperDrive, they would have done so before the eMac got it. That they didn’t though, means they must be waiting to release something more. And with the NAB conference next week, it seems like a good time for it. Probably an update to iMacs too, as they are a higher end unit than the eMac is. Could they be going G5 soon? We will need to wait and see.

Ok, I think thats enough. I guess will see you all back here Sunday.

adios,
nick

When the inventor of the drawing board messed things up…what did he go back to?

Well, to begin with I would like to point out the new poll. I was supposed to change it last time, but no, I was lazy. For more info on this poll, see FoodTVs Iron Chef America page.

Since the last update was so tiny, here are some details that were skipped from the weekend. Uhm, I didn’t really do anything last weekend. Oh, I went to Todd’s bon fire Saturday night? I think so. Yeah, my brother and I went, then drove around for a bit. The Beatles sound weird with a loud system. Also, last night I installed our new dishwasher and tonight or tomorrow our new over-the-range microwave.

Erica still has no bike, and is sick now. When she agreed to go riding with me I got all excited not realizing that the weather would still be crummy for another 2 months afterward. So now, I am being tortured by evil mother nature and her lack of cargo area.

School is still going, and going, and going, and never ends. What is this, week 11 now? 12, this is 12 we started yesterday, only 3 more then. Yeay!

I have been reading the Devil’s Panties and Something Positive , as recommended by Erica. I started from the beginning and am working forward. I have the Devil’s Panties done, and am in like August 2003 of Something Positive.

Blogging is hard, because sometimes I want to say something, thinking this is a journal or such, but then remember other people read. It’s hard to remember who reads this and that in theory, anybody could. Too many people forget that if it goes online, anybody could read it, and to watch what you say. I have been pretty good though, and have only had 2 embarrassing moments where I talked about someone and they later read it.

I am at 989 visitors right now, we will see who becomes lucky 1000. Granted thats not really 1000, since people like Scott and Suchyta and Jason probably have 200+ each, but still. Heck, even the 2 months between me starting the blog and getting a counter. Anyway, I figure 1000 by Friday.

So, I think that’s it.

See you all on Friday, hopefully with the name of my 1000th (better not be some googler).

You, cut my water!
I can’t sir, it’s liquid.
Well then go freeze it, cut it up, and bring it back to me cut, damn it!

Quickie

Not alot of time, and I don’t have much to say anyway, so this will be fairly short. After Wednesdays super long post, I guess thats fitting.

I had the 950th visitor today, was my mom. Congratulations.

My computer has been up 11 days, and is kinda showing. I need RAM, bottom line.

I decided I will be taking my bike to Rays in Midland. Yeah, I need to drive there and back, then repeat a day or 2 later, but they know what their doing, so that puts them above the rest.

Erica doesn’t have her bike yet, at least not that I know of. Also, she broke her streak at 10 posts. She is at 199 posts right now.

I watched “Roxie Hart” at the State Thursday. I do not really recommend it.

School is slowly approaching the end, and I can’t wait. Not so much because I will be out of school, but because I know it will be warm then.

Ok, thats all I have,
goodbye.

nick

When in doubt, at least act like you know what you’re talking about.

Is it Spring Yet?

Well hello to you all. It is 57˚ out there right now. That would be nice, except there is a 15 mph wind that is making it feel a good bit cooler. I want to get some good bike riding in, bad. My friend Erica, whom I have never met, is supposed to be getting a new bike this week. It is waiting at Wal*Mart for her to pick up. She said she would ride with me sometime, so I am kinda excited. Is always better to bike with someone.

I went to see “Taking Lives” with Cassie on Friday night, then we went out to eat. It was nice to see her again after a week. You people need to learn not to get sick, because it is no fun. Stupid germs.

Anyway, you will notice I have 2 counters now, and they have different numbers. I figured out why SiteMeter was acting up, and it is now under control. So, for a short period, I will have two counters. After that though, the Bravenet counter and poll will go away, I will get a new poll, and will get a search page. I figure a new poll every 3rd blog, that will give all plenty of time to vote.

For some reason some of you are having weirdnesses occur with the blog’s sidebar. If you have it, no matter who you are, please comment to me about the problem. I want to know who is seeing it so I can figure out what the cause is. Scott and Sarah, you don’t need to since I know you both have it.

Apple is planning something, but in true Apple fashion they are being very quiet. It has been suggested that anything from no updates until Septemberish, to a full product line replacement in a few weeks. The rumor sites are befuddled and I don’t know whats going on either. (yes, befuddled is a word, and that is the correct spelling).

I am up to 6 free itunes songs. I was at like 0 of 9, the got 1 on a 1 liter, another loser, then a second from 1 or 2 more 1 liters for 2 in 13. Then though, we went to 7-11 and one 3 out of 3. Night before last I got another on a 20 oz, so am suddenly at 6 of 17, which simplifies to BETTER than the estimated 1 in 3. The bad news though: Wednesday is supposed to be the end. I’m sure they will remain in circulation for a few weeks though, and winners can be redeemed until 4-30.

What else…

That might be it.

Hmmm…

Ooh, here are some updates on stuff I mentioned in the past, but never updated on:

Book: No, I actually haven’t read since Christmas break.
Room: Yes, I did clean it, but it’s dirty again.
eBay: Nick listed some, but has been busy lately. Should be more up soon.
LOTR: No, I never did see it. Will be on DVD mid may.
Bike: No, I did not take it in for a tune-up. Unless something really funkinizes, I probably wont.

I think thats most of it.

Funkinizes, thats funny.

Ok, see you all Wednesday then.

Hmmm, what has happened…

I have a new counter and a poll now. I got pissed at sitemeter and switched, but I might switch again, I dont know. Will see.

I learned last night that if you are very tired and you try to read a EULA, it will make you cross eyed. Not fun. I suggest you avoid it.

I haven’t seen Cassie since Thursday night. She has been sick, so slept alot of the weekend.

I was informed that someone was upset by the fact I accidentally did not capitalize their name. I am sorry. Capitalization is one thing I do try and do, even if I accidentally spell the word wrong. I wont let it happen again.

It has been trying to get warm out. Hopefully I can get a bike ride in soon, I need to get my bike over to in for a spring tune/clean up though. Yeah, it costs a few $$, but they fill do a better job that I will, and have the right tools to do it too. Not sure if I will take it to Bicycle Village where i bought it or somewhere in town though. Will need to call around for prices tomorrow I guess.

What else…

Blogs have been kinda short. I don’t know why exactly. Well, I do, it’s because I don’t want to type a lot and generally can’t think if a lot to type, but the reason for that is what I don’t know.

Ooh, I could put up stuff about the cruise I guess. Ok, here some cruise stuff:

Sunday, March 17, 2001

San Juan, Puerto Rico
Arrive: 7:00 AM

Total distance: 1,067 miles by sea + 1,908 (x2) miles by air = 4,883 miles in 1 week

So there you go, our cruise. That means 1096 days ago right now (3 years ago) I was on a ship somewhere between Antigua and St. Thomas. Also, note that those times are AST, not EST, so are 1 hour later (9 EST is 10 AST).

Would I do it again? Yes
Would I have done that one differently? No
Granted, you could argue maybe I “wasted” some tome doing stuff I didn’t like, but if I had not done it, I wouldn’t know I don’t like it, and might waste more time next time just to find out. I don’t know. It was fun though.
Most memorable activity?
Exploring EVERYTHING in the first hour with brother. It took us 3 days to figure out how to get to the last pool. It was staff only, and we couldn’t actually go to it. Bastards.

Ok, it took me like 30 minutes to get all that info, so I am done for now.

Til Thursday,

nick

“The new phone books are here, the new phone books are here! I’m somebody now!”

Spring Break

Yes, it is now spring break (for me anyway). I actually have plans on almost every day this week, which is odd for me. At least none of them include school though.

Lets see, Cassie came over Thursday and we watched Office Space, Friday I didn’t really do much, Saturday night I went with Cassie to meet her friend Chris and his gf Kara. Today I went to K-Mart for this entertainment center that was a) sold out and b) a piece of shit anyway. I ended up buying some stuff at Staples, but am still looking for a better TV stand/entertainment center.

Tomorrow Cassie is coming over after class to finish a movie we started yesterday, Tuesday I have lunch with Scott and Sarah, and Thursday morning I will have interview at state park.

Not much work on the website. Oddly I gave myself until May 27th to do it, but I am pretty much done. Maybe I should make more changes and such. I’m sure there is something that isn’t working right if I looked. Right now though the v.3 B4 is right where the current site is. Only real work I still have planned is finding more pics, figuring out the RSS feed, and adding more links. I am also trying to decide of the JS pop-up page should be left as-is, updated with new massages, or should just go away.

The weather sure has been weird, huh? I liked it being warm out though. I want it to come back. I am suffering from bicycling withdrawal at this point. I don’t like the cold. There is nothing to do.

Hmmm…

I guess thats it. I can’t think of anything else to say, and don’t want to bore you with more details on the above, so I will see you all Wednesday.
