More Updates

I made a lot of updates to the website. First, was the addition of a poll in the blog sidebar, though I may be swapping that out for a better one soon. Next, was the addition of links in the blog sidebar to the gallery and homepage. These were both by request. Then I got into the bigger stuff though, and added a header to all the site pages and changed the sidebars to only show links within the section, rather than a dauntingly long list of links you didn’t much care about. So now section links are on top, and inter-section links on side.

Also, I added all-new galleries, as well as finally getting my resume up, a to-do list, and more. There is a list of updates on the front page too. You can keep track of what I am working on on the to-do if you like, or email me with anything you want added, or just IM me.

Anyway, something else…

I finished a work-unit in folding@home finally. I got 138 points for it too. Hopefully I get smaller ones for a while now.

Jenn got me a cellphone, cause working at Covenant gets her a good deal on an add-a-phone.

OK, I think that’s all for today, probably bored you more than enough with an all-tech update.

Math test today was not good. I knew 99% of the stuff, but I couldn’t finish due to spending too much time on a problem I didn’t remember how to do. Will see on Monday how I did.

Apple released updated Powermacs and PowerBooks, and a new program. Program sounds like somewhere between iPhoto and Photoshop, and is $499. Powermacs are now dual core 2.0, 2.3, and dual dual core 2.5GHz (thats 4 2.5GHz processors). Also have 16x PCI Express graphics and an open 8x and 2 4x PCI Express slots, dual Gigabit ethernet, and support for up to 16GB DDR533 RAM and 1 TB of HD. Powerbooks had 2 models dropped (those with combo drives), and the 15″ and 17″ got graphics updates as well as higher def displays and DDR 533 support,. Still no 13″ widescreen though (my dream to replace the 12″, not that I will buy till intel switch and I have $$ anyway).

Speaking of GB and TB, Scott found this cool numbers site. Sexoctagentillion, hah!

Not a lot else.

I am overall liking my current update schedule, approx. every Sunday and Wednesday, give or take. Let me know what you think.

I have work planned for the site over the weekend, so if you have troubles or see something weird, no worries. And I have a surprise for you all coming too. 🙂

Google, Index Me Please!

Apple now has a teaser for Ice Age 2 up, featuring the saber tooth squirrel. It looks pretty good, we will see.

This week, I think, is mid-point of semester, that’s exciting.

Jenn is no longer employed at Staples, he last day was yesterday. She got some nice going away gifts though. Also, she now has a kitchen table. It was on clearance at Meijer. Granted, she has no chairs for it, but still, she has a table.

We had Rudy J’s for dinner. It was good, very filling.

Ooh, just started raining hard.

I cleaned off my end table last night. Mostly paperwork. On the bottom, was a ticket from burger King for $1 off on Amazon. That was when, June? I think earlier. Yeah, I needed to clean.

What else… Uhm, Oh! Notice on the sidebar that the archives used to make a long list of all the months I have posted in, but I have now put into a drop-down list to use less space. it’s something I was going to include in the new template, but decided to throw it in here too.

OK, that it all I do believe. Nothing good over the weekend really, and nothing big with school other than an 18/20 on math quiz today.

Ok, see you all later then.

Bye!

Post 314 (316)

This is my 314th post, but WordPress thinks it’s 316, due to the example post and such. Fun fun.

They are making Ice Age 2 for 2006, yay! It’s actually funny, because I was really hyped about the first one and watched the preview a lot, but it turned out just kinda OK, but definitely good. I actually found it while looking up John Leguizamo because he’s going to be on ER starting next week, not sure if 1x or recurring.

In other news,
I had a really nice quiz on Monday, got a 19/20. And I found out today I don’t need to take one of the classes I thought I did.

On the website, I edited a crap load of posts, and am now down to 116 now. I also got more work on the template, as Scott saw. It’s still not very pretty, but it’s going.

I think that’s about it. Nothing else I can think of anyway.

Alright, talk to you all later.

New Toys

OK, I don’t have new toys, but Apple announced new ones today. First up is video capable ipods. Also, is the additions of more music videos as well as TV episodes to the iTunes Music Store. Currently, they only have Pixar shorts and a selection of Disney/ABC series including Desperate Housewives, Lost, That’s So Raven, and a few more. But, you can view them on your computer or iPod, or transfer them to your iPod and view on your TV.

Other new toy is new iMacs. Now up to 1.9 or 2.1GHz G5, 512MB RAM (DDR-533, ooh), faster ATi X600 128MB Vid. Cards, and 160, 250, or 500GB HD. The big new features though are that they ship with a remote to control your songs, videos, and pictures, including a new interface for browsing them all in one place and direct access to the online move trailer collection. Also, is a now-integrated webcam in the top of the iMac, for video conferencing, taking your pic for a buddy icon, or whatever else you want. I really like these, but still don’t see me buying one since A) I don’t have $1599 and B) the Intel switch will obsolete all PowerPC based Macs, despite them being better chips.

That’s all for today, check all the new stuff out on Apple’s site. General update tomorrow.

Homework, Yuk

So, I am sitting here, almost done with homework, and it’s only been about 5 hours. Yuk. I need to start keeping up with it better I think.

I mowed the lawn today, and yesterday Jenn and I tried going to the Columbus Avenue Day thing, but missed it by 90 min. It probably wasn’t all that anyway. We considered going to Caro for the Tuscola County Pumpkin Fest. They were making a 16 ft pumpkin pie, the world record. We decided it was too far of a drive though, so made ham, sweet potatoes, and stuffing. Friday, I had to go in for a Man. Proc. test. And Thursday was normal school, except no Man. Proc. class.

I was flipping through today and saw that the new season of This Old House has started. I am very happy about this. I have been waiting over a month for it. Yay!

I started playing with making a new template for WP. It will be a few weeks still though. By the time I get it figured out though, I will know some more PHP and will be able to make some small changes around the rest of the site.

Speaking of the site, I have pics of our most recent camping trip up now in the gallery.

I think that’s everything. I must say, I thought it would be nice to not need to blog every 3 days, but all day yesterday I felt like I had to. Maybe I will get used to it, or maybe I will go back. We will see.

Like a Phoenix, rising from the asses.

Lots of Misc Stuff

So first up is stuff I forgot last time. Saturday evening there was a rabbit that snuck up on us while camping. It sat about 10 ft away eating something. We tried to get a picture but it camouflaged in rather well Also, we tried to go for a walk to check out the mini cabins, but the one we chose was in use. The gate in the road going up to it was locked, so we thought was vacant, but apparently the DNR gives whoever takes it the keys. Maybe someday we will rent one, that could be cool.

The new site schedule. OK, rather than a strict 3 days, I will now post all willy nilly, but within reason. There will be a 5 day maximum between posts, and no posts like “nothing” and that’s all. That just doesn’t count. With any luck, my posts will improve due to not “needing” to post at certain times.

The old site is now gone. It ended with a Yahoo search bot at 11:57pm. Is funny Yahoo would spider the site for searching 3 minutes before it becomes unavailable. Anyway, that was the 6017th, and final, visitor. The total visitor marker list is:

Jul 06 03 – 0 Counter Installed
Sep 21 03 – 100
Oct 12 03 – 200
Nov 15 03 – 400
Dec 16 03 – 600
Jan 15 04 – 650
Feb 17 04 – 750
Mar 09 04 – 850
Apr 03 04 – 950
Apr 07 04 – 1000
Jul 16 04 – 1500
Aug 21 04 – 2000
Mar 07 05 – 4000
Jul 06 05 – 5000
Aug 31 05 – 5744 switch
Sep 28 05 – 6000
Sep 30 05 – 6017 final

And that’s all for the old site. Eventually, I will rescue the old comments. It just might take a few months.

Jenn got a call on Friday, that she was hired at Covenant in Saginaw. She will be a nurse’s assistant in post-op on 3rd shift. It’s 3 days every 2 weeks, but pay is better than staples, and their 12 hour shifts. She is very excited, but a little scarred.

In the last, ehh, 72 hours, I have applied for Co-ops at both Saginaw Metal Casting and Bay City Powertrain. I hope I get one, it would be nice to have a job, especially a good one. Having been in MTP should help, but I will be the first to admit I don’t have the best GPA.

Other than all that, Jenn and I rented A Family Guy Movie: Stewie Griffin, the Untold Story. It was pretty good, basically 3 Family Guy episodes back to back that all were interrelated. Good though.

I think that’s all.

Keeping it real, real crappy.

Camping 2005-3

OK, I decided I am going to move away from the 3 day schedule. Also, Jenn got a job. But, that and all about my old site, can wait till next time. This entry is about camping.

We went up Friday, taking the same spot we had last time. Set up camp and all that, and made a fire. Dinner was the last half of our Subway we got on the way up. We went to bed a little after 10. The night was cold, but we stayed warm thanks to a good tent and sleeping bags.

Saturday Jenn was up first, and had breakfast going by the time I was up. Tater tots, eggs, and biscuits. Yum. After breakfast, and a little sitting around, we toured the park including a return to the lookout tower and down to the footbridge. Next was a little fishing, though we had no luck. Jenn did enjoy napping on the dock though. Lunch was hot dogs, then a nice game of Trivial Pursuit. We now have the “90’s Time Capsule” edition, which makes things a little easier.

Later, we had dinner of hamburgers and zucchini. The rest of the night was just sitting around the campfire admiring the pitch black around us. We went to bed around 1. Saturday evening was a little warmer than Friday.

Sunday morning we packed up and headed home. There was some construction in Arenac County, same as when we headed up, but nothing big.

Yes, I have pics, and will have them up within a week. There were many hunters up there, for some bird season, and for deer archery opener on Saturday. This made things strange, as you could hear shotgun fire at least once per hour most of the day. Kinda like camping in Saginaw. Also, the acorns were falling, so you would occasionally hear them fall crashing through leaves to the ground, which would scare you especially at night.

Jenn and I also bought some air-soft BB guns at Meijer Thursday, which we used frequently up camping. We lost alot of BBs, but recaptured many too. They came with sights, but they aren’t great ones. They are fun though.

OK, I will have Jenn remind me of anything I forgot, and that , the new schedule rules, and the old site, and more on Jenn’s job will be next time.

See you then

I don’t scare easy, i’m too dumb.

6349 visits?

Well, despite doubts from a certain someone, the old blog has passed 6000 visitors and currently sits at 6002. Jenn was 6000 btw, I asked her to check how many I was at and she ended up being the 6000th. Friday evening at midnight though, it poofs away forever. Still though, that 6002 plus the 347 here is a crapload of visits.

Jenn and I are, were pretty sure, going camping Friday, Saturday, and returning Sunday. That means that the Saturday post will be delayed until Sunday afternoon, or just pre-posted on friday afternoon.

Delta released their winter schedules this week, so I have been going through and trying to schedule my courses. I looked back through the fall and spring/summer schedules too, so I could figure out what courses are offered only during certain semesters. Sadly, it looks like I will still have a full year past this winter,, plus another 3-4 semesters at Ferris, but I have no one to blame but me for being so indecisive on my Major.

I think that’s it. Never did remember the additional thing from last time.

Oh, and comment damn it, no one has in a while. I feeling lonely.

And yes, I know I need a poll.

Mmmm, Bacon

So, River of Time was cool. I did as I wanted, and talked to the bagpipers. They were from the Midland Highlanders and were way better than me. Anyway though, they offer classes for free as long as you join their free club for a while. So, not only can I get free bagpipe lessons, but as payment I get to play in parades and at next years River of Time. Coolness. Also, as always, I got some rootbeer and kettle corn. Jenn had the cherry fizz. The redbearded irishman was there as well, but we didn’t get to see any of his children’s games. Jenn really enjoyed them last year.

Moving on, I have nothing else.

Really.

Uhm…

I guess keep on enjoying the new template. It has a calendar.

Ooh! Family Guy movie on DVD Tuesday! Don’t rent it till Wednesday though, to make sure there is one for me.

Well, I thought of something else, but can’t remember it now, so ohh well. Maybe Wednesday.
