Ha Ha

So, I didn’t post on the blogversary, oh well. I really don’t mind.

Today, er Saturday, I got the doggie door installed after a mere 6 months, and took the Blazer back to my dad. Then I went with Dan, Dave, Matt, Kyle, Jeremy, Dan’s girlfriend, and 2 of Dave’s friends to Ruby Tuesday at 7, then X-Men 3 at 8:45, then Dave, Dan, Matt, Dan’s girlfriend, Jeremy and I went to Jeremy’s for a while. I just got home about 30 minutes ago.

X-Men 3 was good, plenty of action and humor, though had some disappointing parts.

I have been working on re-categorizing the iBlog posts. I also added the “Outdoor” category. I am going slow on and off, but I am doing it.

I need to go camping soon. Jenn and I’s schedules don’t match up real well though. Hopefully her June schedule will look better.

I will be working Wednesday mornings instead of Friday afternoon beginning week after next.

OK, I suppose that is all for now. See you all later and enjoy your Memorial Day.

the Thing

This is post number 375. I was going to wait and post it on Saturday (the anniversary) and make is 3002 words long so I get 3 years, 375 posts, and 100,000 words all at once, but decided no.

Yesterday Jenn wanted to go for a bike ride, but wanted to go somewhere fun. So, we headed downtown and she asked if we could go into the museum and walk around. Next we went along the river to the waterfall park, but it wasn’t running. It is cool, I saw it working on my ride with Todd last Wednesday. I was dissapointed it doesn’t go into river though. Next we went to Bay City Car Company (I think thats name, is on 2nd and Water) which was open unlike when Todd and I went at 8pm. They have a 1974 VW Thing for just $8800. If it had windows, I would highly consider it. Also, a 1950s Mercedes Benz for just $400,000, or $11,000 a month (about, was actually higher, but I dont want to exagerate). We then headed to her house, and returned by car to the Kingfisher, since it smelled so good.

Other than that not alot exciting.

I missed Scott twice now, very sad.

Jenn, Todd, and I, and who knows who else, are going to the school bus figure 8s next friday at Dixie.

Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend, and I WILL post on Saturday.

Number 372

OK, so I changed the post time on the last 2 months of posts, to fix the time-change issue, as well as change the server time so this and all future posts will have the right time, and set a reminder in my calendar to change the time again in the fall along with where I am supposed to change it.

Saturday was Jenn and I’s 2 year anniversary. We didn’t do much, sat around and watched Just Friends and Jarhead.

It is looking like the rain may finally be stopping soon. It didn’t rain much today or yesterday despite predictions of constant rain on both days. The giant cell thats been circulating over us for nearly a week is finally getting far enough south east that it only hits us occasionally. Hopefully I can get back on my bike soon.

I think that’s all for now. See you all later I suppose.

Speedy Delivery

Jenn was nice enough to leave me her power adaptor for the night, since she is working anyway. I just checked my order status at the Apple Store and they say the package was shipped earlier today. FedEx says on their tracking page that estimated delivery will be Friday, much sooner than next Wednesday, so that is nice. I kinda figured by Friday, from past experiences.

So, I have a computer for the night and am therefore going to watch HellBoy, as my iBook is the only working DVD player in the house right now. All the others crapped out (PS2 doesn’t like newer movies, and DVD player downstairs seems to have taken a big shit all over itself or something).

I haven’t made it to Bay City State Park yet, and with work and talk of rain I might not this week. We will see though, I do have Friday morning.

So, there is tonight’s mini update to this afternoon’s update.

Later,

About The Weekend

Over the weekend I rode my bike to work Friday and Saturday. It’s about 4 miles round trip, not much but something. I also rode from Jenn’s to home and back today. I hope to make it to state park and back one day this week.

I got a response from my QA professor that I will get an A in the class, but it is not yet on my report card. Regaurdless, I get Dean’s list for this semester. I was hoping for vice-president’s list again, but oh well, its something.

I do not have to work tomorrow, because we are begining the new schedule this week. I will, as already posted a week or two ago, be working the following schedule henceforth:

Thursday: 9 – 5
Friday: 12 – 5
Saturday: 9 – 5

I am suppsed to work at 8:30 either Thursday or Saturday, I don’t remember which. Anyway, I like that they are close to each other, but don’t particularly like waking up so early. Maybe it will get me up early on some of the other days to get some biking in before it gets really warm out.

OK, see you all later.

Updated

So, big updates. You may notice the address of the blog is now right at the root of the site, rather than at /blog/. I am moving some things around in the constant hope that a little more work now will save me some later. The problem of course is that I am constantly coming up with new ideas like this so there is always more and more work.

Anyway…

Last night when I was going to bed (too late by the way) I remembered I hadn’t slept there the night before. No, I slept in my backyard, as it dropped to nearly freezing, in my tent. I set it up Wednesday evening and slept in it for the night. I wanted to air it some, and make sure it was in good condition for camping which will begin soon. With my sleeping bag though, it really wasn’t too bad.

Uhm, still no grades. I guess thats it.

Summer is Coming

Wow, barely a week. Sadly, thats good for me recently.

Today I did 2 assignments for my QA class and printed out a bunch of stuff for my public speaking assignment. In all I did about 6 solid hours of homework today. It was nice out too, I would have loved a bike ride, but that’s what procrastinators get.

I have been thinking over some summer accomplishments I went to do, and here is the current list.

  • Clean my room (lets just say the blog isn’t the only thing I’ve been slacking on)
  • Ride bike to Rose City (to camp at RRRA) in prep for…
  • Ride bike to Mackinaw (yes, seriously, like 180 miles)
  • Get some reading in
  • Catch a fish
  • Visit Ferris

I think that would make for one hell of a summer, yes?

Really, I have been thinking it over, looking into it, and I really think the Mackinaw ride is a serious possibility. It would require like a week off work, and a lot of biking in spare time to build up endurance, and some real planning, but it can be done. Dave (from the library) has mentioned a desire to perhaps come, but I am up in the air about companions. On the one hand, it could be more fun, and probably a little safer. On the other though, his foot is broken, nobody else has offered, and I would be slightly pissed if I didn’t make it because my companion crapped out (not saying he would, just hypothetical, like the safety part).

Like I said though, Rose City first. Jenn can take supplies in her car and I can ride just to get some endurance riding in. RRRA (which is in Lupton, actually) is about 70 miles, less than half the way to Mackinac (which is only 180 miles I just found out, somehow was in my mind is 300, but actually 3 hour drive). Anyway, 70 miles is certainly doable in a day, in a mere 5 – 7 hours.

And like I said, I need to catch a fish. Last year I caught one, but didn’t land it. I need to catch, land, and decide if I will keep or release the fish, at least 3 times.

The Ferris thing could actually get turned into a bike trip too, or could be put off till fall, unsure for now.

Ok, that’s all for now.

Three weeks till school is over, then I should be able to start getting stuff done, and get back to blogging normally :).

April Fools

No, I’m not going to write some farce in trickery, I just need to update, and it happens to be today.

Today is also, btw, Apple’s 30th Birthday.

Tuesday I skipped speech, and half of electronics. It was really nice out and I decided I should have a day off, since I was sick through spring break. I went down to the end of Johnson and explored the bit of trails hidden there and shopped a bit at Meijer, then drove around with the windows down for a bit. Then some homework to make it all even out. It was quite nice out the past few days. Kinda cool and wet today, but better than winter.

School is coming closer to a close, which means an increase in final projects and such, which I am not appreciating.

I did a little biking Wednesday, 5.5 miles. I was a little tired when I left so not that far, I know, but is a start. I really really want to do more biking this summer.

So, that’s about it for now. I will try and be back within a week.

Homework, Yuk

So, I am sitting here, almost done with homework, and it’s only been about 5 hours. Yuk. I need to start keeping up with it better I think.

I mowed the lawn today, and yesterday Jenn and I tried going to the Columbus Avenue Day thing, but missed it by 90 min. It probably wasn’t all that anyway. We considered going to Caro for the Tuscola County Pumpkin Fest. They were making a 16 ft pumpkin pie, the world record. We decided it was too far of a drive though, so made ham, sweet potatoes, and stuffing. Friday, I had to go in for a Man. Proc. test. And Thursday was normal school, except no Man. Proc. class.

I was flipping through today and saw that the new season of This Old House has started. I am very happy about this. I have been waiting over a month for it. Yay!

I started playing with making a new template for WP. It will be a few weeks still though. By the time I get it figured out though, I will know some more PHP and will be able to make some small changes around the rest of the site.

Speaking of the site, I have pics of our most recent camping trip up now in the gallery.

I think that’s everything. I must say, I thought it would be nice to not need to blog every 3 days, but all day yesterday I felt like I had to. Maybe I will get used to it, or maybe I will go back. We will see.

Like a Phoenix, rising from the asses.

Lots of Misc Stuff

So first up is stuff I forgot last time. Saturday evening there was a rabbit that snuck up on us while camping. It sat about 10 ft away eating something. We tried to get a picture but it camouflaged in rather well Also, we tried to go for a walk to check out the mini cabins, but the one we chose was in use. The gate in the road going up to it was locked, so we thought was vacant, but apparently the DNR gives whoever takes it the keys. Maybe someday we will rent one, that could be cool.

The new site schedule. OK, rather than a strict 3 days, I will now post all willy nilly, but within reason. There will be a 5 day maximum between posts, and no posts like “nothing” and that’s all. That just doesn’t count. With any luck, my posts will improve due to not “needing” to post at certain times.

The old site is now gone. It ended with a Yahoo search bot at 11:57pm. Is funny Yahoo would spider the site for searching 3 minutes before it becomes unavailable. Anyway, that was the 6017th, and final, visitor. The total visitor marker list is:

Jul 06 03 – 0 Counter Installed
Sep 21 03 – 100
Oct 12 03 – 200
Nov 15 03 – 400
Dec 16 03 – 600

Feb 17 04 – 750
Mar 09 04 – 850

Jul 06 05 – 5000
Aug 31 05 – 5744 switch
Sep 28 05 – 6000
Sep 30 05 – 6017 final

And that’s all for the old site. Eventually, I will rescue the old comments. It just might take a few months.

Jenn got a call on Friday, that she was hired at Covenant in Saginaw. She will be a nurse’s assistant in post-op on 3rd shift. It’s 3 days every 2 weeks, but pay is better than staples, and their 12 hour shifts. She is very excited, but a little scarred.

In the last, ehh, 72 hours, I have applied for Co-ops at both Saginaw Metal Casting and Bay City Powertrain. I hope I get one, it would be nice to have a job, especially a good one. Having been in MTP should help, but I will be the first to admit I don’t have the best GPA.

Other than all that, Jenn and I rented A Family Guy Movie: Stewie Griffin, the Untold Story. It was pretty good, basically 3 Family Guy episodes back to back that all were interrelated. Good though.

I think that’s all.

Keeping it real, real crappy.
