Bored, So Very Very Bored.

Well, I have been doing nothing for about an hour now in boredom, so I figured I would blog. Not much to blog about though.

Valentine’s Day went well. I gave Jenn a dozen lavender roses and a teddy bear, she gave me a CD, a belt, and a meat thermometer (no, those don’t sound like romantic gifts, but they are ones I wanted). We went to Applebee’s for dinner. That’s about all.

Hmmm… What else.

I guess we could look at what I wrote a year ago.

2/15/04
I got a webcam from Suchyta (that I need to post on eBay)
Was being lazy (what else is new)
Tax refund and fin aid weren’t back yet (at least I have refund this year)

And that’s about it. Apparently 2/15 is just an uneventful day.

Before I go, I want to point out I modified the poll, so it will be a bit easier.

Huh?

I Really am a Geek!

Well, the website went down last Wednesday as I attempted to post the NAIAS pics, and took 2 days to get it all back. Now, yesterday morning, it happened again. Thankfully Apple restored my data on their own. It isn’t particularly great to fear your $99 a year backup server can magically delete your files on a whim, but at least its all fixed.

Anyway, what else…

I took a geek test. They gave me a little graphic for my score, but it wont work in blog, so I have to just say it – 97% – whooyah. I retook and managed a 100% with some cheating, but the 97 is all me. You too can take said test here.

Think thats it for now.

…Friday…

It's Noon, and I'm Bored, So Why Not?

First of all, though you probably didn’t notice, the “Blogger” category is gone. I went through last night and marked them all as “Blogger post #XX” and then incorporated them into the other categories. There will be a new category coming soon though, very soon.

I also did some calculating the other day, and came up with this:

May 13, 2005 – 250th Post
May 19, 2005 – 200th General (earliest)
Oct 10, 2005 – 300th Post

I think those are right anyway. Note that the 200th General is listed as earliest, since every non-general post will push that date back by 3 days.

Yesterday we watched Troy. A good movie, based largely on the Iliad. If you liked Gladiator, you will like Troy.

Grandma is doing better. Main problem now seems to be that she is dopy from the medication. She doesn’t complain about pain as much though, and is starting to get used to not being able to use her arm.

Ok, I gonna go. Remember, MacWorld is tomorrow, Keynote is at 12 (Yay!, wait, they said no live webcast this year BOOOO!)

update: I just read through my comments and thought I should add that I haven’t started toward any resolutions yet. Thats one of those things about new year’s resolutions, you have all year to work at them.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you all, all 4 of you (maybe). Hard to believe its 2005. Seems like just a few months ago we were writing 9x on papers, heck, I remember writing 89 on papers.

So, new year means new years resolutions, and mine are mostly the same as last year.

  1. Clean my room (and KEEP it clean, would be a good idea)
  2. Get in better shape. this is a multi-part thing:
    • ride bike more (this means not leaving it at Jenn’s for the summer)
The rest is actually from the requirement of Coast Guard training camp graduation:
    • 29 push-ups in a minute
    • 38 sit-ups in a minute
    • 1.5 mile run in 16.50
    • sit and reach of 15.5cm*
    • swim 100 meters then tread water 5 minutes

*sit and reach: sit on the floor and reach out with your legs flat, your fingers must extend x cm beyond toes. Is a measure of flexibility.

  3. Do a better job with the blog. This past year has been some sucky blogging. The website updates have been all but nonexistent, the regular blog updates have been consistently late, and well, it’s just not been what it should be.

So, in other news I found one of the coolest points in the US. You may all be aware that as you travel north through Michigan, you pass a maker stating you are passing the 45th parallel, “halfway from the Equator to the North Pole” (the actual halfway point is 10 miles north, since the Earth is slightly elliptical). Well, as you travel west, in Wisconsin, you will also cross the 90th meridian. So, naturally, there comes this point (scroll to bottom, then to 3rd pic up). Thats right, the exact middle of the North-east quadrasphere (quadrasphere?) Cool, huh? I guess though that the real cool point is again 10 miles north, and would likely require a GPS.

OK, thats all for today.
Again, Happy New Year,

Talk about a weird pay site.

Anyway, Welcome to December, month 19 of the blog.

Normally I have trouble finding a quote for the blogs, but when writing the last blog I had 3 sitting there to choose from. A weird predicament indeed.

Jenn keeps bugging me to tell her what I’m getting her for Christmas. Only 2 people know, my mom and my brother’s friend Brandi. It’s funny.

I want chinese again. I just went to Old Great Wall a few days ago, but I feel unfulfilled. Scott needs to come back and go with me. Maybe Him, Jenn, Sarah and I.

Ok, See you Sunday I suppose.

Don’t you ever flush? It looks like a bucket of candy bars in there.

Number 191/129

Just for the sake of maybe something to write about, I looked at the post from one year ago today. I actually remember writing it, which is more than a bit scary. That is a main goal of the blog though, to provide a way for me to look back at what was happening on whatever previous day, and a point I have been neglecting. The bad news is though, that there hasn’t been anything happening lately. The only things I really do are with Jenn, and I deem many of them unfit for sharing (get the dirty thoughts out of your mind people, its not bad stuff, just personal stuff, or just rather boring).

Anyway…

We went golfing yesterday. I never knew how much goose shit you can pick upon your shoes. Jenn did not bad, I did do bad. I had an 18 on the first hole, which was a par 4. I did progressively better as the day went on, but we had to quit because it was getting rather dark. I owe Jenn 4 balls, that I lost to the water.

This morning we went to the Career Fair at SVSU, if you can call 8 hospital reps a career fair. I guess it should be refered to as a job fair, as the career has clearly already been chosen in this case.

Afterward we went to Chen’s, which was good (as always, except the chicken strips (inside joke, sorry)). Then a nap followed by Jenn going to class.

After her class, we watch TV and after Good Eats, Jenn decided she wanted to make Sweet Potato pie. So, we ran to Meijer and got what we needed, and picked up Mr. Deeds and Shrek 2. Shrek 1 was good, and I must say so was 2. Mr. Deeds will be tomorrow.

Also tomorrow, is the making of the sweet potato pie and apparently a parade down Broadway. Not supposed to be anything big though; Marching band, commissioner, Mayor, fire trucks, etc…

Ok, I think that’s plenty for today. Will update again Saturday.

So, the sun’s a giant star?
Actually, its only a medium star.
Oh…

Misc. Stuff

So, Google announced recently that their number on searched pages has nearly doubled to over 8 billion pages. Well, I have around 400 pages, probably a little more (blog pages x2 for archive copies, website, etc… ). So, with a little math you get:

400 / 8,058,044,651 = 0.0000004964%

So I have around 4.9 ten-millionths of Google’s search index. Not bad really.

Jenn and I celebrated our 6 month anniversary yesterday. She spent most of the day with her mom and aunt shopping in Birch Run, Bay City, and Saginaw.

I’m watching a show about the “Endless Yardsale” that stretched from Kentucky through Tennessee. Sadly, it actually looks interesting. Too bad I don’t have my own reliable vehicle, or money. Oh well.

I would like to apologize about the crappy posts lately. Jenn’s only words when she saw the last post was “What is this shit?” lol

My room is getting a little cleaner. I am still working on it.

I still want a video camera. I’m not sure if I would use it, but still. I think I would. It could be fun. Especially if I could import the video to the computer, and if I had the Powerbook I hope to get within a year or so to be able to burn to DVDs. Oh well, back to that money thing.

Alright, see you Wednesday.

Election

Well, I am disappointed. There is no reason for Prop 2 to have passed. I see no reason that homosexuals shouldn’t be able to marry, but seeing as how Bush was reelected there will probably be a national ban soon anyway.

I edited the pictures, so they are better quality, but lower resolution and file size.

I’m not sure what else.

Jenn and I rented Mr. Deeds, AutoModelista, and Paycheck. AM is ok, but GranTurismo is the god of PlayStation racing games. Paycheck was pretty good. Mr. Deeds will be later.

Oh well, at least the political ads are over. I heard on a discussion board today that Nov. 3rd should be a holiday, “End of Political Ads for a While” day, or EPAW day.

Ok, bye til Friday.

123

This is general number 123. Sad, considering the next highest category is Blogger at 34, then Special at 18.

Job interview was tonight at the Radio Shack in the Fashion Square Mall. No clue how I did. Was supposed to be an application and an interview, but I was never interviewed. Perhaps they thought I was another applicant and let me go early, perhaps the Bay City store needs to interview me, or perhaps they just plain don’t want me.

My last CD from Columbia House came in, so next month I will be canceling my membership. Woohoo.

Sixty one days until Christmas, and 2 until Scott’s Birthday.

I made beef and bean enchiladas last night. I put a bit too much spice in the meat though, it seems 2 lbs beef + 3 jalapenos + 2 habeneros = too much. They were good though. Also, Jenn made crab rangoon. It was odd to have mexican and chinese at once, but it worked out because hers were done about an hour earlier than mine, so was a nice appetizer/snack.

Saw Suchyta today, first time in a few months. He is moving to Nevada next week I guess.

I passed 2000 points on Folding@Home today, woohoo!

I received an email from a “fan” named Sydney. I replied nicely, but to be honest have no idea who you are. Thanks for the compliments though.

I guess thats it.

Till Saturday,
nick
