Ehhhhhhhh!

I should be doing my JavaScript homework, but I can’t. I tried at it for several hours this afternoon, and again for the last hour or so tonight, but I can’t do it. The assignments were so easy for the last 13 weeks, but now, now they are not. I can’t even get a part to work, it’s just being ugly.

Yesterday, the magic moment occurred. I should explain I guess. You all know military time, right? It goes from 0:00:00 to 23:59:59. Ok, and then there is the european date format. So where we would say April 21, 2004, they would say 21 April, 2004. So, 4/21/2004 would be 21/04/2004. So with all that, yesterday, around 8:04pm, was 20/04/2004 20:04:20.04 (thats April 20th, 2004 at 8:04pm, and 20.04 seconds). Cool, huh? I noticed it last year, maybe year before. Next will be on May 20th 2005 at 8:05pm. The last one we will see is December 20th 2012 at 8:12pm. After that, they wont occur again until January 21st, 2101, at 9:01pm. By then I would be 118ish, and doubt I will be alive, or will any of you (you never know though).

Hmm, what else.

Two more votes on the poll I see. I have no idea who made them though. I don’t recognize the IPs. New poll next time.

I am very tired, which is odd because I slept from 9:30 last night til 10:30 this morning, with the exception of about an hour around 7am. Thats still 12 hours, and I have no right being tired.

Just over a week of school left, woohoo!

It has been pretty nice out, except the wind. I thought it was april showers, not april 40mph gusts? Its so warm out, I want to go ride my bike, but is hard with steady 20mph winds. It needs to get nice out, please.

Ok, I should go attempt more JS, just because.

bye
nick

If you grab one arm with the other, and pull really hard, could you ever pick yourself up?
That would be cool.

Hot? In April?

The hell is this shit?

Yes, I asked for warmer, but I just wanted warmer than 30s and 40s, not the freaking 80s already. Can we get a 70 – 75 with no wind maybe?

Apple released a heap of new software today, but no hardware. Most are still expecting new iBooks and PowerBooks tomorrow. We will see.

I passed 1100 today. I am giving the title to Erica, although she was 1101. Some stupid googlers got 1099 and 1100, so she was closest. I shouldn’t though, since she doesn’t talk to me anymore :-P.

I went to Zabro’s and to see “the Punisher” yesterday with my brother. Very awesome movie. Also, why did nobody tell me how much better GKC is than Goodrich? I still want to see HellBoy, JerseyGirl, and Holy Grail will be there at the end of the month too. If anyone is interested, PLEASE let me know. I hate seeing movies alone.

I rode most of the rail-trail with my mom on Friday night. Was like 7.5 miles round trip, so 2 under. As was with the movies, if anyone would like to go with me, let me know. I am available pretty much 24 – 7 since I have no life, unlike all of you.

I worked Friday too. I was all yellow from the pre-emergent we put down. I still have a few yellow spots I either miss or just can’t get off yet.

So, that’s what I’ve been up to. I haven’t heard from some of you in a few days, but see you checking the blog. I wish you would let me know what’s going on, either an IM or a comment, something.

Ok, toodles.

Untitled, Because I Can't Think of One Right Now

Hi!

I was really looking forward to this blog, but now I am really tired, so I am not any more.

I downloaded Civilization III, and have been playing it a little too much, so haven’t slept as well as I should be. Last night I saw Gods and Generals at the State, so that had me up late too. Tomorrow I am supposed to work with my mom, so not sleeping in at all. I will deal though, what choice do I have?

New poll up, PLEASE VOTE. Sakai and Morimoto tied the last one. Will see who was right in a week or so.

I went for a bike ride today. Did the whole rail-trail loop for 9.5ish miles. I think that may be adding to the tired. Sadly, I went alone because nobody will ride with me right now. Oh well, solo rides give me a chance to think and such, so not all bad, just kinda lonely.

Hmmm…

We did XML in my website class, and its really cool. I wish I could do my site in XML, but most browsers have lousy support for it. Speaking of the site, I haven’t done anything with it in a while. Either busy or not up to it. I will have another fairly big update soon though, maybe after school lets out?

Ahh, school. Just 2 more weeks, so nice. And it’s been nice out lately too. Was mid 60s today. Supposedly might brake 70 tomorrow, but chance of rain, And not even a thunderstorm, just rain. Too bad.

What else is new…?

I was right about the Stacey thing, was a friend of Suchyta’s that thought was his blog. She tried to delete the posts but couldn’t. Funny, because if I had known, I can delete comments, but didn’t so made a big deal out of it. Haha!

Apple released a new eMac on Tuesday. It seemed like just a speed bump, until today when i realized it has an 8x DVD-R drive. Now, eMacs are $999 and have an 8x drive, but the $2999 G5 only has a 4x. All the rumor sites are wondering if new G5s are coming soon, and this answers it to me. If Apple was just going to switch to an 8x SuperDrive, they would have done so before the eMac got it. That they didn’t though, means they must be waiting to release something more. And with the NAB conference next week, it seems like a good time for it. Probably an update to iMacs too, as they are a higher end unit than the eMac is. Could they be going G5 soon? We will need to wait and see.

Ok, I think thats enough. I guess will see you all back here Sunday.

adios,
nick

When the inventor of the drawing board messed things up…what did he go back to?

Huh?

Ok, so I have to start out with these recent comments:

You know you’ve hit a new level of low when you start putting names into dogpile.

Add Chen to that poll!
Stacey | 04.12.04 – 10:48 pm |

and

What’s even better is when you realize it’s not a friends blog but a foaf
Stacey | 04.12.04 – 10:52 pm |

Ok, what?

Well, I guess I can answer part of this.

1) It seems whoever this is, they were referred in via a dogpile search for “nick+suchyta”, so thet would answer the dogpile think and maybe Suchyta will know who they are.

2) No Chen. He is not in the Tournament of Masters (sadly, I think he should be too) because he was last on IC like 5 years ago, and was pretty old then. The poll pertains only to those chefs in the Tournament of Masters, which will be on Food Network on the 27th-ish.

3) foaf? thats friend of a friend, right? Yeah, OK, so Stacy is Suchyta’s friend. Ok, problem solved then.

I guess if Stacy comes back, or maybe Suchyta can, a comment verifying this would be appreciated.

Anyway…

I wrote a big blog at like 2:13 this morning (not afternoon, morning) but erased it because it was all funky. So, I need to write another one, but the mysterious “Stacy” helped me with a good chunk of stuff.

I have another nasty wisdom tooth headache right now, and i am having trouble seeing straight. This is one of the fun ones that makes my eyes hurt. This is not very nice of my teeth. I try giving them somewhere to live, and they go and trash the place. One day though, one day I will kick their asses out.

Yeah, anyway…

So, I think I am going to end up sticking with 3 blogs per poll. I have anyway, so why not. I picked up 3 new votes today, so I see no reason to pull it. I believe it is a tie between Morimoto and Sakai with 2 each right now, so if you feel it should be otherwise, THEN VOTE. Maybe when we know who wins in 2 weeks, I will be nice and reward whoever’s vote was correct? Probably not, but who knows, I have done stranger things.

Uhm…

I have had a bunch of stuff on my mind lately, and that’s actually what the first blog early this morning was all about. I think it should stay in my head for now though, until lI get it sorted out a bit more.

And finally…
I asked you all a little bit ago if you would comment more, so you did, and I appreciate it. BUT you stopped then. You only commented the once. Really people, you need to keep it up, I like reading comments, even when it’s from people that I have no clue who are.

I guess thats it. I want to go to bed, because my head hurts, so you all have to go away now. New poll and blog on Thursday (maybe, I don’t want to say right now). Also, supposed to be getting pretty warm toward this weekend, so I will probably be trying to get some bike riding in. If anyone else wants to, you should let me know (hint hint).

Bye,
nick

Avoid cliches like the plague.

Boredom Sucks

I am really bored right now. Everyone is going off to do fun stuff for Friday night, and I have nothing. Oh well. One day, I will make you regret it. I will be the awesomeist of all, and you will regret not doing stuff with me before, when you could. Yes, I will show you, I will show you all. Bwahahahahaha!

Anyway…

Well, I was way off. I said I should have the 1000th hit by Friday, and, well, I did. Heck, I had it by Wednesday night. Somehow, I managed over 50 visitors in 6 days. I did really well at not letting anyone know who it was too. Even now, only the person and I actually know. It was almost some crazy googler looking for u^^pa lu^^pas too. In fact, both the 999th and the 1001st were. So, in desperation, I asked the only one of you people who were nice enough to be semi-available to run to the site to pick up the 1000th, and you did. So, without further a due, my 1000th visitor was…

Apr 7, 2004 06:15:33 PM
66.227.198.#
Windows XP (NT 5.1)
Internet Explorer 6.0

(thats Erica, for those of you who don’t have all my visitors IP addresses memorized yet.)

Congratulations, and thank you for keeping the title from the evil google monkeys. Also, congratulations on finally getting your bike. And by the way, I am up to 1022 visitors as of right now.

What else…

This is my 110th blog, wow. In theory, I will have 122 on the anniversary, but I think the 2 test entries will put me at 124. I’m not sure.

Only 3 weeks of school now. I seem to have been a week ahead for a while, telling people 4 left when there were 5. Like I said a few days ago, I am excited for the warmer weather more than for the no more school. I mean, i have 6 credits and 2 are online, and HTML is barely a class. Anyway, 3 weeks.

Only 2 people have voted in the poll. I think maybe a few more of you should vote. I mean, it’s Iron Chef, everybody likes Iron Chef, or at least did at some point.

I still haven’t gotten my bike to Ray’s in Midland. Not that I can afford it anyway. My mom is right, I need to get a job. Stupid GM. They better call before fall, or else. “Or else what?” you ask? Well come on, like I can actually do anything to a Fortune 5 multi-$billion international corporation. For pete’s sake, GM owns like half of everything in the US, basically everything GE doesn’t.

They really should merge, it would be cool. i mean, come on, 1 corporation that owns as much as those two. GM has Chevrolet, Buick, Oldsmobile, GMC, Cadilac, Hummer, Pontiac, Saab, Vauxhall, Fridgedare, Hughes, GMAC, DirectTV, Powertrain, OnStar, Fiat, Subaru, Saturn, Holden, Opel, Isuzu, Suzuki, and more. Then GE owns NBC, Geico, and owns patents on or manufactures everything form light bulbs to appliances, lexan plexiglass to jet engines, batteries to fiber-optic cable, and nuclear reactors to medical imaging equipment like CT and MRI scanners. Both have huge investment, insurance, and financing divisions. I mean, come on, it would be great. Throw in Xerox, SBC, and Exxon/Mobil and you could take over the world, literally.

Yeah, definitely bored.

Well, I have to take a test online for my CST-161 class, so I guess I will go do that now, and see you all later. Enjoy your weekend, Happy Easter, and I shall return on Monday.

later,
nick

People do crazy stuff on TV, like eat at Arby’s
(I don’t remember if that was Lois Griffin, or Marge Simpson.)

Number 109

Well, to begin with I would like to point out the new poll. I was supposed to change it last time, but no, I was lazy. For more info on this poll, see FoodTVs Iron Chef America page.

Since the last update was so tiny, here are some details that were skipped from the weekend. Uhm, I didn’t really do anything last weekend. Oh, I went to Todd’s bon fire Saturday night? I think so. Yeah, my brother and I went, then drove around for a bit. The Beatles sound weird with a loud system. Also, last night I installed our new dishwasher and tonight or tomorrow our new over-the-range microwave.

Erica still has no bike, and is sick now. When she agreed to go riding with me I got all excited not realizing that the weather would still be crummy for another 2 months afterward. So now, I am being tortured by evil mother nature and her lack of cargo area.

School is still going, and going, and going, and never ends. What is this, week 11 now? 12, this is 12 we started yesterday, only 3 more then. Yeay!

I have been reading the Devil’s Panties and Something Positive , as recommended by Erica. I started from the beginning and am working forward. I have the Devil’s Panties done, and am in like August 2003 of Something Positive.

Blogging is hard, because sometimes I want to say something, thinking this is a journal or such, but then remember other people read. It’s hard to remember who reads this and that in theory, anybody could. Too many people forget that if it goes online, anybody could read it, and to watch what you say. I have been pretty good though, and have only had 2 embarrassing moments where I talked about someone and they later read it.

I am at 989 visitors right now, we will see who becomes lucky 1000. Granted thats not really 1000, since people like Scott and Suchyta and Jason probably have 200+ each, but still. Heck, even the 2 months between me starting the blog and getting a counter. Anyway, I figure 1000 by Friday.

So, I think that’s it.

See you all on Friday, hopefully with the name of my 1000th (better not be some googler).

nick

You, cut my water!
I can’t sir, it’s liquid.
Well then go freeze it, cut it up, and bring it back to me cut, damn it!

Quickie

Not alot of time, and I don’t have much to say anyway, so this will be fairly short. After Wednesdays super long post, I guess thats fitting.

I had the 950th visitor today, was my mom. Congratulations.

My computer has been up 11 days, and is kinda showing. I need RAM, bottom line.

I decided I will be taking my bike to Rays in Midland. Yeah, I need to drive there and back, then repeat a day or 2 later, but they know what their doing, so that puts them above the rest.

Erica doesn’t have her bike yet, at least not that I know of. Also, she broke her streak at 10 posts. She is at 199 posts right now.

I watched “Roxie Hart” at the State Thursday. I do not really recommend it.

School is slowly approaching the end, and I can’t wait. Not so much because I will be out of school, but because I know it will be warm then.

Ok, thats all I have,
goodbye.

nick

When in doubt, at least act like you know what you’re talking about.

Lyrics Are Not An Away Message!

No, really, that seriously bugs me. I have no idea why, but I am just strangely annoyed by people leaving lyrics for their away message. I mean, it’s an AWAY message, you’re supposed to put where you’re AWAY to. I guess if you’re listening to the song thats lyrics you posted, that would be ok. Also, a certain person who hasn’t read the blog in like 6 months has a habit of leaving horribly mushy sappy messages to her boyfriend, which outright pisses me off. So there, I said it, OK?

Anyway, I am bored now. I did all my homework. I still have tomorrow’s Network Essentials to do, but I have next weeks HTML and tomorrows JS all done. I don’t really feel like doing NE though, so I am blogging instead. Too bad nobody is online to talk with.

I think my plan of a new poll every 3rd blog is a bit too long. Since everyone seems to vote the first day it’s up, I could really change every blog. But no, I am too lazy, so I will go to every second blog. Thats a nice mix of long enough for everyone to vote, supporting my laziness, and yet not so long it just sits uselessly. So expect a new poll on Saturday (Scott already knows what it will be).

Nobody commented on having oddities, so either you have no idea what I am talking about, or Scott and Sarah are the only two experiencing it. I guess there is a strange phenomenon where there is a large white space on the sidebar, above the calendar. Scrolling down so the area is out of view seems to fix it, but if you refresh it comes back. If I have it wrong perhaps Scott will be nice enough to correct me in a comment?

Also, please use the poll and comments, really. Don’t feel like you don’t know me well enough to comment or something. Don’t be shy, tell me what you think, please. If some freakoid can leave one asking for a ser*al to S*m C*ty 4, then all you that I gave the address of my blog to can most definitely comment. And remember, I know you were here from the counter, so don’t pull any “but I haven’t been there” crap (you know who you are).

Wow, that sounded kinda harsh. I just want you people to give me your feedback though, I need it, I need reassurance that I’m not wasting my time on all this. I do it all for my peeps man, cause I love you guys 😥

Anyway…

I am jealous of Erica now. She has posted to her LiveJournal for 10 days in a row, has 197 posts, and will have her 1 year anniversary on April 21st. That means 1 year a full month before me, and has 90 or so more posts. Still, I am WAY more regular than Ms. “no posts for over a week”, so thats something.

Yeah, I am bored as hell.

Today is the last official day of the Pepsi/iTunes giveaway. The question is how long will it take to sell off all the yellow capped bottles. If any of you have some, and don’t want them, I would be happy to take them from you 🙂

Wow, 2 emoticons in one blog. That’s especially wowwing because I have never used even one before, except once in a title. Hmm… emoticons… Why only faces? Why not -> <- <-> @}-‘-,– and others?

And speaking of which, do you use -> or ~>? I used to use ->, but have switch over. For some reason I think it looks better.

Yeah, definitely bored.

Why is nobody good online?

You people need to quit school and hang out with me, it would be way more fun.

Oh, new Apple rumor… Mac OS 10.4 will be (drum roll) “Tiger”. Following 10.2 “Jaguar” and 10.3 “Panther”, of course. Problem is that it is an unconfirmed rumor. We know Apple will go with a cat, but has TMs on Tiger, Lynx, and some others, so who knows. Trouble here really being that 1 site reported the rumor, and with nothing better going around everyone else just jumped on it. If a confirmation comes in, then cool, if not, then we will just need to wait for WWDC.

You know, this is one of my longest blogs. I mean, it’s really freaking long. I am going to regret this when I need to do the Abstract.

Cassie has been sickish again. I think a lot of people are really. The weather getting warm screws with allergies and stuff. I am lucky, I seem to have gotten over like 99% of my allergies. They still come on sometimes, but nothing like they used to. Five years ago I would be miserable, and ten I would be considering suicide by now. I guess getting shots in the arm for all that time did the trick. “Good little immune system, good boy…”

Uhm, yeah…

I figure I should also mention that I only update every 3 days, for the few that seem to check every 6 hours for an update. That might change in a while (at the anniversary, it has been considered) but for now it is only on every 3rd day. I’m not saying don’t come, just trying to save you some time. Although, I will admit I check other peoples blogs way to often too, and will even check Crazy Apple Rumors 2 or 3 times a day, knowing full well its a once a day thing.

Hmm…

Ok, that’s it. I can’t really think of anymore.

See you on Saturday with a new blog and new poll.

nick

“She don’t eat meat, but she sure likes the bone”

(No, Lyrics are not an away message, but they are a useful quote)

Is it Spring Yet?

Well hello to you all. It is 57˚ out there right now. That would be nice, except there is a 15 mph wind that is making it feel a good bit cooler. I want to get some good bike riding in, bad. My friend Erica, whom I have never met, is supposed to be getting a new bike this week. It is waiting at Wal*Mart for her to pick up. She said she would ride with me sometime, so I am kinda excited. Is always better to bike with someone.

I went to see “Taking Lives” with Cassie on Friday night, then we went out to eat. It was nice to see her again after a week. You people need to learn not to get sick, because it is no fun. Stupid germs.

Anyway, you will notice I have 2 counters now, and they have different numbers. I figured out why SiteMeter was acting up, and it is now under control. So, for a short period, I will have two counters. After that though, the Bravenet counter and poll will go away, I will get a new poll, and will get a search page. I figure a new poll every 3rd blog, that will give all plenty of time to vote.

For some reason some of you are having weirdnesses occur with the blog’s sidebar. If you have it, no matter who you are, please comment to me about the problem. I want to know who is seeing it so I can figure out what the cause is. Scott and Sarah, you don’t need to since I know you both have it.

Apple is planning something, but in true Apple fashion they are being very quiet. It has been suggested that anything from no updates until Septemberish, to a full product line replacement in a few weeks. The rumor sites are befuddled and I don’t know whats going on either. (yes, befuddled is a word, and that is the correct spelling).

I am up to 6 free itunes songs. I was at like 0 of 9, the got 1 on a 1 liter, another loser, then a second from 1 or 2 more 1 liters for 2 in 13. Then though, we went to 7-11 and one 3 out of 3. Night before last I got another on a 20 oz, so am suddenly at 6 of 17, which simplifies to BETTER than the estimated 1 in 3. The bad news though: Wednesday is supposed to be the end. I’m sure they will remain in circulation for a few weeks though, and winners can be redeemed until 4-30.

What else…

That might be it.

Hmmm…

Ooh, here are some updates on stuff I mentioned in the past, but never updated on:

Book: No, I actually haven’t read since Christmas break.
Room: Yes, I did clean it, but it’s dirty again.
eBay: Nick listed some, but has been busy lately. Should be more up soon.
LOTR: No, I never did see it. Will be on DVD mid may.
Bike: No, I did not take it in for a tune-up. Unless something really funkinizes, I probably wont.

I think thats most of it.

Funkinizes, thats funny.

Ok, see you all Wednesday then.

Hmmm, what has happened…

I have a new counter and a poll now. I got pissed at sitemeter and switched, but I might switch again, I dont know. Will see.

I learned last night that if you are very tired and you try to read a EULA, it will make you cross eyed. Not fun. I suggest you avoid it.

I haven’t seen Cassie since Thursday night. She has been sick, so slept alot of the weekend.

I was informed that someone was upset by the fact I accidentally did not capitalize their name. I am sorry. Capitalization is one thing I do try and do, even if I accidentally spell the word wrong. I wont let it happen again.

It has been trying to get warm out. Hopefully I can get a bike ride in soon, I need to get my bike over to in for a spring tune/clean up though. Yeah, it costs a few $$, but they fill do a better job that I will, and have the right tools to do it too. Not sure if I will take it to Bicycle Village where i bought it or somewhere in town though. Will need to call around for prices tomorrow I guess.

What else…

Blogs have been kinda short. I don’t know why exactly. Well, I do, it’s because I don’t want to type a lot and generally can’t think if a lot to type, but the reason for that is what I don’t know.

Ooh, I could put up stuff about the cruise I guess. Ok, here some cruise stuff:

Total distance: 1,067 miles by sea + 1,908 (x2) miles by air = 4,883 miles in 1 week

So there you go, our cruise. That means 1096 days ago right now (3 years ago) I was on a ship somewhere between Antigua and St. Thomas. Also, note that those times are AST, not EST, so are 1 hour later (9 EST is 10 AST).

Would I do it again? Yes
Would I have done that one differently? No
Granted, you could argue maybe I “wasted” some tome doing stuff I didn’t like, but if I had not done it, I wouldn’t know I don’t like it, and might waste more time next time just to find out. I don’t know. It was fun though.
Most memorable activity?
Exploring EVERYTHING in the first hour with brother. It took us 3 days to figure out how to get to the last pool. It was staff only, and we couldn’t actually go to it. Bastards.

Ok, it took me like 30 minutes to get all that info, so I am done for now.

Til Thursday,
