Well…?

So, I have it 99% done. There are some tweeks to do here and there, but I think I have it. Here is a rundown of what was changed…

  • Totally new template (well, nearly totally, some old code was recycled)
  • The gallery is finally up (need to add photo descriptions still)
  • New name, hooji is gone
  • New address

But wait, how can it have a new address if you are here? Well, look at your address bar, where does it say you are? Yes, I paid for a domain registration, for 1 year for now. I put up an automatic redirect on the old site too, so you are taken here without knowing what happened. I am not sure if it works with the RSS feeds though.

As I said, I have a few bugs left to play with, and I still have the old comments to repost and the iBlog posts to re-categorize, but those will come with time.

If you have any problems, questions, suggestions, or complaints, let me know in a comment.

Status

So, all my behind the scenes secretive work is coming along nicely. I really think you guys will be happy with it all once it debuts, though I am not fully sure when that will be yet. I have a few more things to work on though, but I think I will be able to get everything set up over the weekend.

We had a staff meeting at work today, which means Rudy Js afterward. I have to be back at work in about an hour for regular hours though.

Tomorrow around 12:30 or 1 I go to the mall with Todd to get fitted for my tux for his wedding next September. I really think it is way too early, but what do I know.

Overall though, it has been a rather uneventful week. Jenn and I went to the pumpkin farm again over the weekend, and she got a new Escape on Monday, and that’s about it.

OK, see you all later.

When Pumpkins Fly

This weekend Jenn and I went to Johnson’s Giant Pumpkins. Coolest thing I have ever seen. Ninety two pound pumpkins flying 600ft are just cool to see. They built a trebuchet in the back of the farm and launch a pumpkin every hour, plus they have a corn maze and donuts and cider and all that. We got a caramel apple too, but the apple wasn’t great (isn’t it always like that? shitty apple covered in good stuff, why not a good apple in good stuff?). We plan on returning this coming weekend because we didn’t have $4 each for the maze, and want more donuts (made right there, served still warm).

Changes

Some big changes, upgrades, and additions are very near for the site and blog. I am getting excited and really want to get them out, but need to hold off until they are a little further along. I can say though, that NOBODY but me actually knows ANYTHING about what the updates are. If, however, you are really slick, you might be able to find something out.

I have 4 votes in the poll already, which means that I should probably put a new one up, but to be honest I have trouble thinking up poll questions. I would ask for you to leave poll suggestions as a comment, but I have done that at least 2x before to no avail.

I think that’s all for now. Later.

Over the Summer

Way back, on April 9th, I wrote out the following goals for the summer:

Clean my room (lets just say the blog isn’t the only thing I’ve been slacking on)
Ride bike to Rose City (to camp at RRRA) in prep for…
Ride bike to Mackinaw (yes, seriously, like 180 miles)
Get some reading in
Catch a fish
Visit Ferris

Over the summer, that was modified to add in riding my bike to Ferris, building a hammock, and building a canoe/kayak. Then, it was further modified to remove the canoe/kayak and the hammock. As well, all the bike trips were constantly delayed.

Well, summer is over, and it is time for a recap on everything. I never did clean my room fully. I did clean it a few times, just not to the point of actually being clean. I never rode my bike further than the 18 miles to and from State Park, and have not ridden it since July 3rd on the way back from the fireworks to be totally honest.

I did get in plenty of reading, fiction and non, including a few things that I had wanted to read for quite a while. I still have a few things left on my wishlist but everything from the Bay County Libraries that I wanted, i found and read. I did not go fishing all summer, and have not even bought a license. I may though go salmon fishing with my dad in the coming weeks, we will see. And finally, I did visit Ferris with Jenn, though I was advised to revisit in the Fall when classes are in session and there are more to see, so I will need to set that up at some point.

So, overall, I did pretty well with the exception of biking, that’s what I am telling myself anyway. I may have set goals too high, or not tried enough, who knows. Next summer I will be living near Big Rapids and have the While Pine trail nearby, so maybe I can get some riding on that.

Alright, thats all I wanted to say for now.

I Want to Camp

I had stuff that I wanted to write on here, but it was in a file on my computer. I, however, have not been to my computer much, instead Jenn’s or at work. By now though, I have enough to update anyway.

Funeral was very nice, I cried, and took communion when I shouldn’t have, but so did Chris and Jenn and my cousin Matt’s wife. Besides, my own Aunt gave it to me and she didn’t say anything, and she should have known better. The service was at St. Hyacinths and then we went to cometary down Cass who’s name I can not remember.

My Psychology class yesterday was canceled, which I was a little pissed off over because I was up till 2:00 the night before finishing a paper, then worked more on it at work, but I got over it. I am sure she had a good reason. I ended up at Delta anyway though, because financial aid rebate checks came out yesterday, woohoo.

I gave Shelby my spoiler last week, and he brought it back Monday night, so I got that back on my car. No more white racing stripes on the trunk. I also talked to Jason this week and am hoping he can help me out with a few things on car soon, especially oil leak.

This morning I was awoken at 3:00 to quite a bit of thunder. It has just been a rainy crappy day. I would much rather be under a blanket on a couch with a TV than here at work.

This weekend I think Jenn and I are going to see this pumpkin farm I read about in the paper. He built a trebuchet to launch pumpkins, and has a corn maze (a maize maze if you will) and other cool stuff.

Also this weekend, I really want to go camping but only would be able to on Friday night, and Jenn would be working. I am not sure if I want to pay to camp 1 night be myself. I think I do, I just not sure.

I guess that is it for now, ttyl.

2 Years Later

Way back, on September 26, 2003, I got my iPod, and the next day posted in my blog that I needed a decent pair of headphones because the ear buds hurt my ears. Over the summer while putting my ipod and buds in my backpack, one of the buds suffered puncture damage through its cone, rendering it to about 1/4 volume on the left side permanently. That left me with my $20 full ear Sony’s that aren’t really that great, hurt your ears after prolonged use, and are rather impractical for walking around with my iPod.
So, finally, today, I received my new decent headphones. I have been told in reviews that they require a break-in period so no comments on sound quality yet, but I have heard 99% positive about them before buying, so am excited to find out for myself.

Oh, What a Weekend

So, the tooth hasn’t been all that bad. It didn’t bother me at all until Saturday night, probably because I started actually doing stuff. Every now and then I will get a pretty nasty pain across most of the right side of my head, but it really hasn’t been that bad.

About an hour and a half after my last post on Friday, I was called by my dad and informed my Grandpa had passed away. He had been sick for over a year now, and pretty close to the end for several months. Even this spring there were a few times that I was told not to expect him too much longer. He had been suffering for some time, and we all knew he was on his way out, which makes it somewhat easier of a situation than what happened with my grandma.

Saturday, Jenn and I went to Troy to get her a new computer. Around Flint we were going 35 – 40 on I-75 because the rain was so hard. We made it there, made our purchase, got some White Castle, and returned. Open up the box, boot up computer, and the LCD has 4 lines of lazy pixels. Sunday, Jenn called Apple and would up driving back to Troy again to get a new computer. For now on, we will be sure to test equipment before driving 90 minutes home.

So, with all that this weekend, I am not feeling real great. River of Time was nice Saturday though. It is like year 10 or something though and it is beginning to get kind of boring.

Grandfather is at Ambrose Funeral Home today, with funeral tomorrow. When I get out of work I am going to get a hair cut then stop by there followed by school. Tomorrow, I am taking off work for the funeral then will go to school.

Since that will be 2 days off this pay period (Friday with tooth, and Wednesday), I will be at work for an e-mail class Thursday morning.

I think that is about it for right now.

Nevermind

I forgot how convoluted it is to edit WP themes. There is just so darn much variation between different peoples themes and templates and stylesheets, it make it really hard to make parts of one work with parts of others. I will probably still get a unified template system, it just won’t be this weekend.

The extraction went well though. It came out in like 3 or 4 pieces because the crown started to fall apart, but the roots stayed together and no pieces tried staying behind. Pain is pretty much non-existant.

Thats all for now.

Theme Change

Over the weekend, since I will be medicated and tired and not doing much most likely, I am going to try working on the new theme. In the mean time, the theme will be changing randomly as I start with the default not-so-great theme and add all the little customizations that I want and making it all into something fairly nice. My goal right now is for something at least 3/4 decent, halfway decent would just be slacking.
